Summer Colors

I remember coming across this issue of Vogue and being completely stunned by how phenomenal all of the pictures were.  I have always loved bright vibrant colors, and loud bold prints.  It was an amazing sunny weekend here in Santa Barbara and I am still in complete summer mode.  I hope that you all enjoy looking over these beautiful pictures as much as I did! Evening Yoga

Over the past four years I have completely fallen in love with running.  There really isn’t anything like waking up and going for a run in the refreshing morning air! Unfortunately, I completely neglect stretching, which is a terrible thing for runners to do.  Last night I did a yoga DVD…I know it sounds silly…but I loved it! Afterwards I felt relaxed, stretched, and ready for bed. I definitely recommend it!  Have a fabulous Friday!!

Thumbs up for Rock and Roll

So one of my friends showed me this video the other day and I absolutely LOVE it!! This little boy is just the cutest and I think that his little speech is so inspirational.  Let's all take advice from him today... whether you are learning to ride a bike, or in my case learning a new job... you can do it if you believe in yourself!  Have a fabulous day! 

Jeannine's Bakery

This past weekend was absolutely wonderful! My mom and Grandma were in town, and so were my girlfriends from back home.  I wanted to make sure to give them a memorable Santa Barbara experience. We started the weekend off with a long run by the beach and breakfast at the most amazing restaurant, Jeannine's Bakery.  The relaxing weekend was the perfect way to get ready for a full week of work.  Hope that you are all having a fabulous Monday!

This weekend in Montecito is Kim Kardashian's wedding.  It will take place up by where I used to go to school and they are all staying at the Biltmore Hotel by my favorite beach.  I haven't seen anyone famous yet, but I will be keeping my eyes peeled all weekend in case I see someone around town! Unfortunately I am not invited to the wedding, but I have girlfriends in town from northern California so we have lots of other fun plans for the weekend! I hope that you all have an absolutely fabulous Friday!

Gardens of Roses

Last week Dan and I decided to go to the Santa Barbara mission to enjoy a picnic dinner.  The weather was perfect, the food was delicious, and we loved looking at all of the beautiful roses in the extensive gardens.  The Santa Barbara mission is definitely a place to go see if you are in town.  It is absolutely stunning and an ideal place to go for a relaxing afternoon or evening.  After dinner we decided to go on a hike in the nearby hills and explore.  We discovered a few trails, an old jail house, and a reservoir that was built in 1806.  I will most definitely be going back soon for a full tour of the interior of the mission.

Highest Aspirations

I am still working on dental school applications and I am excited to almost be done with them.  I know that there will be a long wait until I find out if I will be let into one of the schools, but all the work on the applications has made me realize even more how excited that I am to be a dentist! I saw this quote earlier and it inspired me so I wanted to share it with all of you...

A New Look

A few months ago I lost my glasses.  I have looked everywhere and much to my dismay they are nowhere to be found!   I have decided however to make this a positive situation and I am actually really excited to look for a new style of glasses to start wearing...something that will not only allow me to see more clearly, but also make me look smarter, sharper, and more chic. What do you think of these pairs? The first ones are my favorite!

Small Details

I haven’t started working yet and so I spend most of my day in the apartment finishing the rest of my dental school applications.  Since I am spending so much time there I really want my apartment to feel more like a home.  I decided that it is the small details that will make the apartment more welcoming, unique, and cozy.  I am still working on the "bigger picture", but here are a few things so far that I really love.

Fiesta

This past weekend was Fiesta in Santa Barbara and I enjoyed going downtown for the delicious food, live music, and fun dancing! I was ecstatic that there were tamales and authentic tacos! I simply could not get enough.  I had a blast dressing up for the occasion! I wore a flower in my hair everyday, and flowing colorful dresses that had a Latin flare.

Moving In

I started moving into my new apartment last week and things are finally looking more put together.  I am relieved that most of the boxes are empty… for a few days I felt like I was living in Holly Golightly’s apartment from “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”.  Hope that everyone has a fabulous Tuesday! 

Biker Madness

This past weekend in Santa Barbara was Fiesta, and to mark the end of the celebration people in town rode their bikes up State street.  I had no idea this was going on until I got trapped while attempting to turn onto State.  At first I was incredibly nervous that I would hit one of them, and also very annoyed that I was trapped and unable to drive.  After a few minutes of bikers passing me I had a change of heart and decided to just enjoy it, and cheer them on.  Sometimes you just have to let go, take it easy, and laugh.  Here is a Video that someone took of all of the bikers... if you look really hard during the first part of the video you can see my little Jetta! The Penthouse

So, I wanted to let all of you know about my luck this past weekend.  My mom, sister, and I ran the half marathon in San Francisco on Sunday, and as a treat my mom booked us a room at the Mark Hopkins Hotel for the night before the race.  It is an incredible hotel in one of the most beautiful areas in the city. We had originally booked a normal room but after learning that there was only one small bed in the room that we were supposed to be in we upgraded ourselves to one of the smaller suites.  We were only in the room for only a few minutes before we got a call from the front desk telling us that we needed to change rooms again.  Very promptly after that call we heard a knock at the door and we were handed new keys that said room 1801.  When we arrived at the room we saw that it was the PENTHOUSE! It was definitely one of the highlights of the weekend, none of us had ever been able to stay in a hotel room like that before! I had only seen rooms that amazing on TV…all my sister and I could think of was “Gossip Girl”.  Here are a few pictures for you to enjoy!!
