A Perfect Afternoon

There are many things that I can think of that make an ordinary afternoon become perfect: a spa day, shopping downtown, playing in the sand at the beach, and wine tasting.   A few weeks ago, I went wine tasting with one of my good friends and her family in Santa Ynez, which is about forty-five minutes outside of Santa Barbara.  It was a wonderful and memorable day.  It started off a little rough because upon our arrival to the train station we realized that it was not a train that would take us to our destination, but instead a bus.  We also learned that the buses for the day were all sold out.  Luckily we had a friend who had a free afternoon and was willing to drive us.  When we finally arrived we stopped by an adorable market in Los Olivos to buy Salami, crackers (imported from Spain), and a large assortment of cheeses.  We decided to eat at the Fess Parker winery under a beautiful tree on a picnic table.   We enjoyed a bottle of their wine with our leisurely lunch.  After eating we enjoyed driving through the countryside looking at the rolling hills and wildlife, and stopped at a winery to do some tasting along the way.  The day ended with shopping at a local boutique, where I found the most beautiful dresses, followed by a large and fresh meal at a local restaurant.  I highly recommend an afternoon like this to anyone who loves wine, relaxing afternoons, and spending time with friends.

I love the pink flowers that they put at the end of each of the rows of grapes.

My friend Kimmie and I before lunch.  I decided on wearing a yellow vintage sundress that my Grandma used to wear with my gold skinny belt and gold gladiator sandals.

I thought that this sign was adorable! My family has a sign similar to this in our backyard pointing to some of our favorite places.

Music in the Park

This past weekend I went to a concert at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco.  It was an amazingly beautiful day in the city.  The sun was out and shining and there were lots of families, couples, and puppies out for the afternoon.  I was so impressed by the performers and loved dancing and singing along with them! Andrew Allen, Michelle Branch, Parachute, Matt Nathanson, and One Republic were all wonderful and I cannot wait to start buying more of their music

The girls out for a summer afternoon.

Blue skies in San Francisco!!

One Republic... enough said!

Decided to wear a braid and a flower in my hair, my brand new light coral scarf, and handmade feather earrings... definitely reflective of my bohemian mood that morning!

Michelle branch sounded wonderful and looked effortlessly fabulous in dark skinny jeans, a navy and white stripped t-shirt, and a white blazer. Her husband is the bass player and they make an adorable couple.

Typical San Francisco outfit...I cannot say that I condone this look though!

Loving the Leopard

One of my girlfriends and I have been searching everywhere for a Leopard print mini skirt that we could wear during the day with a casual top, or out at night with nude heels and an over-sized (and slightly-sheer) top.  Leopard print (commonly mistaken for cheetah print) is my absolute favorite print, and so I probably wear far too much of it. I found these three skirts that I think might fit what we are looking for, which of these variations of leopard print do you love the most?

The Most Romantic City

Paris is a city that I have been fortunate enough to travel to twice, and yet I know there is so much more for me to experience there.  I cannot get enough of the beautiful art, romantic feel, fabulous fashion, and amazing food.  I am going to start saving now so that hopefully I can go again soon!

Pippa's Purse

I am one of those people who frequently alternates between purses, depending on my outfit or where I am going.  I spotted this amazing handbag by Modalu London while reading about the fabulous Pippa Middleton.  As soon as it is back in stock I am seriously considering buying one.  I really adore the black croc as seen here, but I also love the Chili and the Oak.

Simple Pleasures

I wanted to create this blog to share all the fabulous things about fashion, traveling, food, and California that I love. Here are a few things that are inspiring me at the moment…
Beautiful vibrant flowers, having flowers around the house always brightens my mood.

One of my favorite things to do is mix metals, it makes me feel like a bohemian princess.  I saw these in Istanbul and wanted to rub all of them to see which one had a genie inside...I resisted.

Sunset in Tuscany, one of the most romantic and breathtaking I have ever seen.
