A Weekend of Baseball and Sunshine!

Headed off to Arizona today for Baseball Spring Training, excited to see the San Francisco Giants in action and I am looking forward to a weekend of baseball, bonding with my dad and brother, eating food that I know I shouldn't eat but totally will, and to wearing LOTS and LOTS of orange!! I hope that you all have a wonderful rest of your week and a lovely weekend!!

Time for a Change...I got Bangs!

Right before a went to Mexico I did something daring and impulsive...I got bangs! I have had the same haircut for probably a decade (or more) and I just needed a change.  I stopped by a random (but fabulous!) hair salon in Montecito on the way home from work and just walked in and asked for bangs.  For the first few days they were a little funky, but now I am used to them and LOVE them! They add instant cuteness or edge to any outfit and I couldn't be happier with my current hairdo! Have you ever made any impulsive hair choices? How did they turn out?

{ Here they are on day 1, now they finally have grown in and are looking just the way I want them to!}

{ So excited that they work with Hats!  I LOVE hats :) They are the perfect accessory!}

Stark White and Vibrant Graffiti

The other day I was reading my absolute favorite blog "Cup of Jo" and I saw that she had a link to a hotel room that is half stark white and half colorful graffiti.  I think that the photos look awesome, but I think that if I lived in this room I just might go insane. What do you all think of this unconventional decor?

Monday Monday Monday

I hope that you all had an absolutely lovely weekend.  Mine went way too fast as usual, but it was so wonderful!  This past weekend was full of delicious dinners at new favorite restaurants, learning about painting, chick flicks, and listening to relaxing music while it poured outside.  Mondays are always tough but I am ready for this week and excited for all of the amazing things that I hope it brings.  Have a fabulous Monday afternoon!

Zoo Time!

I love going to zoos and aquariums I always come away with some new tid-bit of knowledge that I didn't have before and the animals and sea creatures are always so beautiful and amazing! I recently became a member of the Santa Barbara Zoo (thank you to my boyfriend Dan!).  It is a small zoo, but it has the most stunning views of the ocean and the most fascinating exhibits! We went on a free afternoon and had a fantastic time strolling around the property and learning about the animals.  Our favorite animal to see was the snow leopard, it is so stunning I literally could not keep my eyes off of it!  When you are in town definitely go, I am sure that I will be spending a LOT of time there.

Dentistry, Ensenada, New Friends, New Knowledge, a Regained Perspective, and Stunning Views

I am back in California from a wonderful week in Mexico working with the medical and dental team from Westmont College.  All of the students, dentists, doctors, and other volunteers were amazing to work with.  The week reminded me of why I want to go into dentistry and got me excited to keep chugging along with the application process, I feel renewed and more motivated than ever!  There were so many patients that got treatment at the clinics throughout the week and the entire experience was incredibly rewarding.  I learned so much this week and made new friends, I cannot wait until I can go down to Mexico on this trip as a dentist! Here are a few photos from the week (more to come), I hope that you all are having a fabulous Monday so far!

Dental Clinic in Mexico (Potter's Clay!!!)

Tonight my dad and I are driving to Ensenada, Mexico to meet up with students and alumni from Westmont College (my sister is already there!) to be part of a trip called Potter's Clay. We are on the dental team and are looking forward to working hard and hopefully treating a lot of people who are in need of dental and medical care.  I went on this trip last year with my dad and friends and it was an amazing experience and I hope that I can continue to go once I become a dentist!

Here are a few pictures from the trip last year, I won't be blogging at all this week (no internet), but I will share pictures and stories next week.

Hope that you all have a wonderful week!!!

New Super Fly Kicks!

So I finally committed and purchased a pair of tennis shoes for casual wear...you know for those days that you aren't in the mood for boots, flats, or heels, or when you need to be able to walk long distances, but still look presentable! Many people would just wear their athletic shoes with jeans, but I truly believe that doing that is a fashion crime and so I refuse!

I ended up deciding on a pair of leopard print high tops with black patent leather detailing and zippers on the inner ankle.  I will admit they are a little crazy and slightly ghetto-fab, but I found them here on sale and could not resist! I wore them for some afternoon shopping on State Street the other day and was very pleased!

Really, It's only Wednesday?

This week has been unusually stressful and today has been a strange day so far.  I work today from 6am-2pm so my day has shifted and I cannot even seem to remember what day it is! I guess it is just one of those weeks.  I think tonight I will go on a hike and then a beach walk to clear my head and relax! Sometimes all I need is just to be outside and take a few deep breaths!

And I know super random picture, but I like it so I wanted to share it with all of you! Hope you have a fabulous day!

The Bachelor

The show "The Bachelor" has been a guilty pleasure of mine for years.  I know that the premise of the show is absolutely crazy and I would NEVER want to be on the show, but for some reason I watch it season after season and just eat all of the drama up! For those of you who are watching along with me you now that this season has been unusual to say the least.

What did you all think of the "Girls Tell All" Episode last night?  I personally am not a fan of Ben and I am definitely not a fan of Courtney.  I felt a little bad that she got bombarded by all of the other ladies, but after watching this season I think that she needed to be put in line.

I am excited to watch the finale next week (even though I have seen the spoilers to see who won!).  One of these days I really want to go to one of the after the final rose show...embarrassing but true! I hope that you all have a lovely Tuesday.

Its a Small World...literally!

For some reason I have always loved looking at maps...this could be for many different reasons but the ones that stick out to me are...
1) I definitely need to have a better sense of geography, for some reason what I learned in elementary school didn't completely stick...weird...
2) I want to travel all over the world and I enjoy looking at a globe and seeing that there are many more places that I have yet to explore.
3) I think that they look completely awesome on a desk, in a bookshelf, or placed on a mantle.

I had a globe pillow exactly like this one when I was little (that I think my parents still have at the house) and I loved it, but I think that it is time I graduate to the big girl version!
